Angel Island was the Immigration station in California that processed immigrants into the U.S. Angel Island processed about 1,000,000 asian immigrants into America.
Detail
- During the Gilded Age millions of immigrants came to America. Angel island processed most of the immigrants that came to the west coast which made it extremely useful and popular.
- A fire destroyed the admissions building in 1940.
- Angel island is no longer in use today. But it is a tourist site and there is a state park named after it.
