Greetings PW!

Monday and Tuesday are full days this week and Wednesday - Friday (6/8 - 6/10) are half days with 12:10 early dismissal. Attached below is our last dine and donate school fundraiser for Sweet Frog:) Also, below you will find an optional summer reading list/guide - this will help families select age appropriate books for their children.
Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30 - 4:00 & Friday - 8:00 - 12:00
Below are some important dates that will take us to June 10th:)
Kind regards,

Lost and Found Items that are not claimed will be donated to Goodwill next week.
Artome, the company we used for the framed portion of the art show is experiencing shipping delays. We are hoping that we receive all the student artwork back by the end of the school year. If for some reason our work is not returned by Friday we will set up a summer pick up time. If you cannot make it to the summer pick up we will return your child’s work the first week of school next school year. We realize many families are waiting on purchased frames and apologize for the inconvenience. Please email me or Ms. Sara McLoone with any questions.
Yearbooks - I heard they are being delivered this afternoon for a Friday am distribution - fingers crossed!!
Attention Incoming Kindergarten Families: We will be conducting incoming Kindergarten assessments in early June. A Sign-Up Genius with dates and times have been sent to families. We look forward to meeting the newest Penn Wood Bears! Questions - koswald@wcasd.net

Pick UP PATROL
A reminder to use Pick Up Patrol for ALL attendance and dismissal related reporting, including absences, late arrivals, early dismissals, afterschool activities, and dismissal plans. When you report an absence in Pick Up Patrol, we use the notation as your parent note – no need to send a written note or to call the office.
The school office monitors changes throughout the day and classroom teachers receive a customized report every afternoon before dismissal.
Please contact the school office with any questions or if you need access to the registration link.
Arrival and Dismissal Updates:
A few reminders that would be helpful for morning carline….
· Kids should not have their backpacks in the trunk
· Parents should not get out of the car
· If kids need help with their backpack, they can get out of the car, on the “kids side” of the cones and I can help (an increasing number are getting out of the car and helping the kids get the backpacks on)
· Unload all along the cones, 5 cars should be able to unload at once to move the line along. The kids don’t need to drop off at the door.
Dismissal - The main office is very busy at the end of the day...Please call well before 3:00pm if you have any dismissal changes.
Arrival carline drop off - 8:30 - 9:00am
Note - After 9:00 am - drop off is out front because our staff is supervising students in the building. The AM carline has a long walkway lined by cones and signage. Rule of thumb...once you are stopped near the cones unload. "Just like ice cream...stay inside the cones:)"
Afternoon Carline - 3:30 - 3:45
Please follow these protocols:
1) Please stay in car
2) If students can't buckle themselves in the car...please pull forward to the cul-de-sac and buckle there
PM Carline protocol below:
1) PM carline begins at 3:30 and runs until 3:45.
2) Please do not enter the carline until 3:15. Vehicles cannot line up and wait as this causes unnecessary congestion on Johnny’s Way.
3) Enter the campus eastbound on Johnny’s Way. (PM Carline Directional Map) Below...
4) Do not block driveways on Johnny’s Way
5) Office early dismissals end at 3:00. If you have to take your child to a doctor’s appointment, sporting event, etc.…please arrange to pick up prior to 3:00. Please make sure your early dismissal info is in PICKUPPATROL by 2:00pm the day of the early dismissal.
Thank you in advance for your understanding as we look to increase efficiency and safety with our dismissal procedures.
Note: Please know that the preferred mode of transportation for all students is the bus. If you would like to start/resume using district transportation please contact the main office. If your child does not ride the bus for a lengthy amount of time your child or stop may be dropped from the roster.
