Greetings Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to December! Such a fun and busy time of year for families! I hope this message finds your family healthy and eager for the holiday season ahead.

Don't miss the Winter Solstice Storytelling, Drum, and Dance Night from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday December 4 at NBAHS! This event is put on by the American Indian Education Program and will feature authors James Vukelich and Linda LeGarde Grover! You will also be able to learn more about Native drum and dance. Gifts will be provided for American Indian students. We'll see you there!

While we’ve had some mild temperatures lately. Kindergarten students do spend 30 minutes out at recess each day. We will always monitor the weather for it being too cold, but most days we will go outside. Please make sure your child has everything they need. Coat, hat, gloves/mittens, snow pants, snow boots and a scarf are all recommended! If your family is in need of assistance with purchasing winter clothing, please know that we have an Angel Fund available to help anyone in need, just reach out to your child’s teacher or Annette Fairbanks, Early Learning Coordinator - email: afairbanks@isd138.org or 651-674-1223.

Place your orders now for your kindergartener’s first memory book from school. The memory book is like a yearbook that features Grades K-5. The cost is $20 if you order before February 1, 2024 and $25 after this date.

Two easy ways to order:

1. Purchase a yearbook online using a credit or debit card at:

2. Print and complete this form and return it to your school office with payment

If your children have outgrown clothing that you’d be willing to donate to our health office, your donations would be appreciated. We need clothing for ages 3 - 7 years. Pants, underwear, sock and shoes are needed! Thanks in advance for your generosity!

NBAPS Early Learning includes kindergarten, preschool, parent/child classes, early childhood screening, and special education. Services are provided by caring staff in an environment designed specifically to meet the social-emotional and learning needs of young children.
