Week of April 12, 2021
Updates from Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Ajamian
We hope that everyone had a restful Spring Break! We've enjoyed welcoming back our K - 3 students and seeing our 4 and 5 students return to the building. We are excited for all that the last Marking Period will hold. In the coming weeks, in-person students will receive their Marking Period 4 materials from their classroom teacher. Virtual Only Students can plan to pick up their materials on Wednesday, April 21st between 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Car rider dismissal has improved a lot over the last two weeks! We appreciate all the parents following the assigned time and clearly displaying your numbers. Please continue to stay in your car as it helps us keep the line moving. We know that Seven Locks Road can back up and we have asked the police to review the traffic patterns. They shared that they will extend the light during dismissal to support this. Please continue to remember to only turn right out of the parking lot during arrival and dismissal. Over the last few weeks, we have been able to shorten the amount of time to get through the line. Please see the updated dismissal times below. Students with siblings in grades with an earlier dismissal time will exit with them.
COVID-19 Pool Testing
COVID-19 testing will begin at Seven Locks on Monday, April 12th. We must all do our part to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus in our schools. This includes participating in school-provided COVID-19 testing to identify cases where the student or staff member may not be showing symptoms. Tests will be provided for all students and staff every Monday for those that have opted-in. For additional information (and the consent form if you didn't get a hard copy) please click here. Signed consent forms must be returned to the classroom teacher.

Staff Update
Kindergarten 2021-2022
Children who will be 5-years-old by September 1, 2021 are eligible to attend Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. Due to current social distancing requirements we will not have traditional Kindergarten Orientation this spring and registration will be completed online. Please click here to begin the registration process.
Please email Mrs. Burns (Jane_H_Burns@mcpsmd.org) and Ms. Inzelstein (Jennifer_Inzelstein@mcpsmd.org) with any questions.
We hope to have an incoming Kindergarten parent meeting in late spring and Orientation in August. Please notify friends and neighbors of our new registration process as well. Our teacher allocations are based on the number of students enrolled. We don't want to miss anyone!
