Happy Holidays From The Baker 21-22 Staff
Our halls have been bustling with all things Grinch, winter, red and green! As of recent, our students have had a twist on their learning as we skip-counted using jingle bells, wrote letters to Santa and found patterns in tree ornaments.
As we wrap up our 2021 calendar year together I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude. I don’t know many that would state 2021 was an “easy year”. You’ve stuck with us and continued to support your child’s education at Baker Elementary. We are excited to continue moving forward as we enter into 2022.
Our Baker Team is wishing you a fantastic Winter Break!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Respectfully,
Rachel Cimek

Distinguished Artist
Baker Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Mrs. Spicer chooses 3 to 4 pieces of artwork in which the students followed directions and completed the project adding their creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the projects to choose the winner.
Niles is the Distinguished Artist for his scribble ostrich. For this project we read “I’m Not Just a Scribble” by Diane Alber. We talked about how our scribbles can be turned into a masterpiece! Students used a variety of colors to scribble the texture of an ostriches feathery head. Niles was chosen for his ostrich because of his unique eyelashes, beautiful color choices and scribble patterns.
Way to go Niles!
