PSAT- 10th & 11th Graders

We have discovered that we are able to increase the number of students that can take the PSAT on Wed., Oct. 15th. The PSAT is good practice for the SAT (a college entrance test) and juniors who score high on this test can qualify for merit scholarships. Please know, however, that all Sophomores will also be taking the PLAN, which is a practice ACT (also a college entrance test) the week before, so this will be additional time out of class. If your student did not sign up for the PSAT earlier in the year and would like to, please have them come by the back of the Main Office and sign their name to the list. The final deadline to sign up is next Wed., Sept. 24th. There will be no charge for 10th and 11th graders, however if your student signs up and does not test, they will be charged the cost of the test. All students who sign up should pick up a test prep booklet available in the back of the Main Office. All of this information is also being placed on daily announcements for your student to hear each day.

Junior & Senior Parent Survival Night -Save the Date for Thursday, September 25th

Please join the Counselors along with a representative from Campbell University, UNC-Greensboro & Randolph Community College. A wide array of hot topics will be addressed including financial aid, CFNC, admissions, scholarship information, deadlines, and graduation to name a few. A variety of door prizes will be awarded to some of our lucky guests! We look forward to seeing everyone!!

ASVAB

The ASVAB career exploration test will be given on our campus Wednesday, October 8th during 1st and 2nd blocks free of charge. Any junior or senior interested needs to sign up in the counselors’ office by September 25th. The ASVAB can help you choose the right career that matches your interests AND is good practice for the SAT and ACT.

SAT Prep Sessions To Be Offered

We have been announcing to students this week that we are interested in holding after school prep sessions for the October 11th administration of the SAT. If your student is interested please have them come to the Counselor's Office to sign-up. Depending on the number of students interested will determine if we are able to offer this service. At this moment we do not have any students signed-up.
