Cells of Us
Quick education on cells
The Cell
Cells are the building blocks of all living organisms. Without these microscopic things, we would not be able to live.
Sharing the Cell love
Every cell found within your body shares a number of components, not just functions.
Fun Fact:
Even though its commonly known that the outer most layers of your skin are made of dead cells, an unknown source of dead cells are brain cells. Yeah, thats right, you really do loose brain cells. Lucky for everyone, they are replaced or they regenerate, so you never even notice you've lost them.
There are two types of cells! Introducing, Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes.
Eukaryotes
Eukaryotes are the type of cells that make up the human body, normal, living, good cells.
Prokaryotes
Prokaryotes are bacteria and viruses, and the cells themselves are far less advanced than eukaryotes.
Comparing the two
Eukaryotic cells contain membrane-bound organelles, such as the nucleus, while prokaryotic cells do not. Prokaryotes do not have a nucleus, with the chromatin all in one strand, unlike the eukaryotes.
