Jackson Jaguars ROAR
Week 11: November 2 -November 6, 2020
Dear Jackson Parents/Guardians,
Day Light Savings Ends this Weekend!
Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night before you go to sleep!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Thank you so much for taking the time to spend with your child(ren) and their teacher(s) this past week. We know that a virtual conference is not always so easy to participate in, but you managed to find a way to meet and discuss your child(ren)'s progress. It truly makes a HUGE difference in the educational career of your child(ren).
If you have not attended or have to reschedule your conference, please contact your child(ren)'s teacher as soon as possible, by phone, email, Schoology, ClassDojo, etc. All conferences should be completed by November 6th (per D11 expectations).
**Please note that paper copies of report cards will NOT be sent home. You are able to access students' report cards through Q Parent Connect!**
Morning/Afternoon Drop Off/Pick Up
If you are dropping off or picking up from the front of the school, please follow the expectations below:
- REMAIN in your car while in the Kiss N Go Lane
- PULL all the way FORWARD and do NOT stop in front of the walkway
- Obey all SAFTY PROTOCOLS (keep low speed, music should be turned down, and absolutely NO smoking is permitted while in the parking lot)
- REMEMBER that the STAFF are there to maintain safety for ALL. Please treat them with respect, as they are very hardworking employees and only want to make sure everyone is safe!
- Keep LANGUAGE appropriate. Cussing, yelling, and obscene gestures are not valued nor acceptable, at Jackson.
Thank you for your continued support and patience throughout this school year. There are many unknowns and we know you are eager for answers. Please know we are getting them to you as soon as possible. Call the office at (719) 328-5800, your classroom teacher, or me (719) 328-5802, if you have any questions!
We look forward to seeing you soon!

If you have any questions, please email rhonda.sobecki@d11.org. Thank you for helping to instill a love of reading!
Free Book!
After Parent/Teacher Conferences and family activities are completed, students will receive a free book to add to their home libraries. The students can visit me at school or send me a message through Schoology to pick up their free book. We have put together an amazing choice of books for the students to take home and keep. I LOVE giving away free books!
Kinder-2nd Grade iPads
If your K-2nd grade student has not picked up their new iPad yet, please do that this week. You will need to return the old device, the charger and cord, and the mouse (if applicable) . A new Electronic Device Agreement also needs to be filled out and these are available in the office.
Please contact me if you have any questions or if you need technology support. I can be reached at rhonda.sobecki@d11.org or 719-328-5824.

King Soopers Rewards Program
Dear Jackson Friends and Families,
We have created a Community Rewards program through King Soopers. The only thing we are asking is for families to link their loyalty card (King Soopers card) to the Jackson account. Then, swipe or enter the phone number associated with the card at checkout.
Funds are earned based on program participation, not dollars spent. These funds will be used with honesty and integrity to benefit all students.
Thank you in advance,
Jackson Elementary PTO

Q Parent Connection (app)
Please take a few minutes to verify or update the information we have on file for each of your student(s) through the Q Parent Portal. You can do the update either:
- On a mobile device: download the new ParentConnection app for either IOS or Android. Search for “Q Parent Connection”
- On a computer at: https://d11connect.d11.org/ParentPortal
Information to verify/update:
- phone numbers
- email addresses
- military status
- health concerns
- emergency contact information
If you do not know your PIN and password, click the “Need Your Login Information” link on the sign in page, enter your email address, and you will receive an email containing your PIN and password. Once logged in
- Click on Information Update
- Review each section
- Submit
Once you have completed the update process, you should receive a verification email for each student. If your school has a registration event, you can show them this email as proof you have updated your information, saving you the time of filling out paper update forms.
If you need assistance, there is a help video on the left side of the ParentConnection home page. If you need additional assistance, please call Sue Lesar, Jackson's Staff Assistant at 719-328-5811.

Keep Collecting those Box Tops for Education
There are 2 ways to do this:
1) As you shop in your grocery stores, look for the logo on the boxes. They do not need to be clipped. Simply scan your receipt once you download the APP to your phone. Register Jackson Elementary to receive the points. We will earn 10 cents per item. You can also see the list of products and specials they are running.
2) Send in any clipped out Box Tops you may have saved over the summer with your student to their classroom. I will collect these from each classroom.
Thanks for supporting Jackson Elementary. Every Box Top helps!
