Set Sail for New Adventures!

Ahoy Owen Family Members!

We will board the SS Owen Citizenship to prepare for our maiden voyage in just a few weeks. In order to prepare for your arrival, please review the important sailing directions before we "Set Sail for New Adventures" on Tuesday, August 21st.


As Captain of the SS Owen Citizenship and on behalf of the Owen crew members, we look forward to exploring with your student! Rest assured this crew is ready! Their experience and dedication to our vision of challenging and supporting each child in order for him/her to reach his/her full potential on this voyage is unwavering. Our course is mapped out and we are ready to set sail for smooth seas and stay on course for Port SUCCESS!

New SS Owen Citizenship Families to Orientation! Wednesday, August 8th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

New lads and lassies and their families may board the SS Owen Citizenship prior to setting sail to explore the parts of the ship. Each new family will have a treasure map to follow in hopes of finding the hidden treasure.


Owen crew members will be on board to welcome and assist the newest Owen Owls on their treasure hunt to prepare for their maiden voyage on Tuesday, August 21st.


We are eager to see you on Wednesday, August 8th, from 6:30-7:30. Please enter through the main door #1 by the Captain's Cabin to receive your treasure map.


If you have any questions, please contact us at 630-428-7300. Press "0" to be transferred to the school's secretaries. They will be important life preservers for the voyage this year.

Thursday, August 16th is the SS Owen Citizenship's Meet-n-Greet from 3:00-3:30!

Please bring your Owen Owl to meet his/her Classroom Captain for the 2018-19 learning voyage. You may drop off their supplies in the classroom too.


If you ordered a student supply kit through the PTA at the end of the school year, you may pick them up in the gym between 1:00-2:30 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. on August 16th. If you are not able to join us, we will deliver your child's supply kit to his/her classroom.


The Owen PTA will be sponsoring the annual Ice Cream Social following the Meet-n-Greet from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Stop out back on the blacktop to get a tasty treat and meet some new friends, and catch up with your current friends.

On Tuesday, August 21st all 1st-5th grade Owen students should be at port (arrive) by 8:50 and meet their Classroom Captain in the back of the school.


Parents/Guardians are welcome to join us for the Pledge of Allegiance and morning announcements before we raise anchor and begin the SS Owen Citizenship’s maiden voyage of learning.


Thank you for your courtesy, focus on safety and understanding by leaving your pets at home and for using the main entrance #1 if you need assistance.

If it rains, students will enter the school through the three front entrances and the rear entrance Door #9. Crew members will be at each entrance and inside the school to assist students to their cabins (classrooms).
