Geology
Diamond Head is smaller younger than the other Honolulu Volcanoes and younger than the Ko'olau Mountain Range. The Ko'olau Mountain Range should be about 2.6 Million years old, while Diamond Head is 200,000 years old and inactive for about 150,000 years.

Most of the tourist would come from Waikiki, Waikiki is a neighborhood next to Diamond Head volcano. Diamond Head is a United States monument, some of the platforms on Diamond Head is used by the the US government. The Craters make Diamond Head a popular place to visit.

Diamond Head is known for it's crater and it's long hike. The Diamond Head is more than 3,500 ft diameter with a 760 ft summit. Diamond Head is probably the the world's most recognized volcanic crater.
History
Diamond Head is from a volcanic explosion that happened about 500,000 years ago, ancient Hawaiians called it Laeahi, which means "Brow Of Tuna" and the name Diamond Head came from the 1800s.

Diamond Head is from British sailors, where they thought there were diamond lodges in the crater. The diamonds turned out to be calcite crystals in the lava rocks.
