This Weeks Updates
Important Weekly Highlights:
- Spring Prep Schedule begins Tuesday 1/20! Please pick up a copy on the office counter.
- Have new students? Pick up a binder to set up their learning binders on the office counter top.
- Welcome Ms. Oblines our new Tech Specialist
- Grades 3-5 will begin test readiness during guided instruction, writing, and second math period Thursday & Friday
- Promotion in Doubt Letters will be going out soon. Please begin to compile a list of students at risk of being held over.
- There are several trips planned for this month, please make sure to send permission slips and secure bus information and lunch information prior to the trip. ALL students should participate in field trips. NO student should be excluded. Please see Ms. Hamm if you have any questions.
- ALL Staff, please continue to support our schools PBIS initiative by wearing your Rocket Bucks and distributing to all students
- Teachers please include online resources in homework sheets (i-ready/vport math/ myon, etc.)
- Please make sure to be diligent with students safety and are supervised at all times. Students should be escorted by an adult to the bathroom, the lunchroom, and dismissal.
As a REMINDER...
- Please make sure you are planning for all core subjects (reading, guided reading, writing, math, guided math, science and social studies).
- Please make sure your lesson plans are visible in the front of the room placed above the students portfolios and reflect the current date each day. This includes traveling push in teachers. Service providers please have your lessons available for visitors. All staff in your class should be included in the lesson plans (co-teachers, push in staff, Rocket Specialists, etc).

Announcements:
- Mid-year TIP planning meetings with administrators will begin the week of 1/20/15
- Informal observations will continue this week. Please make sure you are referencing the Danielson Frameworks 8 focus standards.
- To all teachers, please make sure daily homework is checked. Ms. Hamm and Ms. Diaz have received several concerns across the grades, from parents that HW is not being checked. Please make sure to mark all homework assignments after they are checked.
On going reminders:
- Please continue to greet our learners with kindness, organized, colorful, learning environments and with honest preparation for becoming literate, mathematicians, scientists, historians, critical thinkers, willing and able to solve world problems, in other words PLAN, meaningful, productive interactive, and engaging lessons.
- Routines should be put into practice during guided reading so that students small groups who are not working with a teacher, are engaged in activities/centers that support their ELA needs. If you need ideas or suggestions please see one of the coaches.
- All bulletin boards with students work must have the following: A task, a rubric, and a teacher/student comment sheet that include a positive and next steps comment based on the rubric and task for the student. Student goal should also reflect the feedback the teacher has provided.
- Please continue to check the ECHALK Groups for updates on documents and information. Making it part of your practice will keep you up to speed with the current events and information in our school community.
- Paraprofessionals, please continue to maintain logs (like last year). If you need more logs or information, see Ms. Mercado.
