Leadership Team
Mrs. Bernhardt and Ms. Pardee are looking to take Jr. Beta into a different direction- we want it to be more Student Led- more fun activities- more opportunities for Leadership. This starts with YOU! We will be selecting a leadership team in the next few weeks.
Member Information for Beta
Why Beta?
MISSION STATEMENT
To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
ACHIEVEMENT - Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement
CHARACTER - Preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful
LEADERSHIP - Developing the leaders of tomorrow
SERVICE - Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others
What do we do?
Club members assist with various service projects in our community such as helping with local elementary school activities, and helping local shelters in Alpharetta. For more information on service opportunities, check out the "Volunteer opportunities" tab. We are always interested in getting new ideas on service projects. Please feel free to come up with your own ideas and pass them on to us! We are always open to finding new ways to"lead, by serving others."
Beta Also Opens Up a World of Opportunities!
EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER. GO PLACES WITH BETA.
Beta expands your horizons. Literally. Whether through local service projects, state conventions, leadership summits or our yearly national convention, members have the opportunity to get out–and, in some cases, way out–to make a difference. It provides students with an ideal environment in which to grow. Not to mention, there’s no better (or more fun) way to see new places. Simply put, Beta offers a long list of one-of-a-kind experiences for one-of-a-kind students.
CONVENTIONS
Beta holds annual state conventions in 18 states, both for Senior and Junior Beta divisions, and winners of these state events go on to compete on a national level. Activities range from academic contests to quiz bowls to talent competitions. Conventions give members the opportunity to interact, share project ideas and showcase their academic and leadership abilities. Plus, the conventions are held in exciting locations, giving members the chance to see cities and places they might not ordinarily have the opportunity to see.
LEADERSHIP SUMMITS
Student Leadership Summits offer students from all over America—and as far away as Poland and Australia—a chance to learn how to become more effective leaders, build positive self-esteem and overcome negative peer pressure.
Whether engaging in energetic group activities and discussions, listening to motivational speakers, watching inspirational videos or competing in team-building events, you’ll develop enduring friendships and take home ideas that will enable you to become a better student, leader and person.
