Spring 2- February
Communication Mrs Saunders-Short - Headteacher
We are already half way through the school year and the children are making amazing progress and really shining.
Going forward this term, we have some exciting events coming up for the children that will inspire them in their learning, such as Birds of Prey, who will be visiting the year 2 children to promote language for writing. The whole school will be taking part in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) week where we will challenging the children in their problem solving. The theatre will also be in to visit and of course Easter is coming so we will have an Easter egg raffle for the children with all the prizes donated by the staff.
At the end of this term you will recieve your child's termly report and a letter about parents evening. Please do take us up on a parents evening appointment. It is so important that we take this time together to talk about your child's achievements and discuss how we can both support them to the next stage of their development.
Staff Changes this term:
Miss Boothroyd will be leaving us this half term to have a baby, but hopes to return at Christmas. We wish her well and look forward to her visits. Mrs Elford will working as the SENCO in her absence and will be availible to speak to any parents that require a meeting. Mrs Beegum will be working with us in a variety of classes until July as an unqualified teacher.
We would also like to take the oppotunity to congratulate Mr Ainscow and Mrs Bramwell on successfully being appointed as the substansive joint Deputy Heads.
We hope we have another successful term, and I look forward to working with you all.
Attendance is very important to us. So that we ensure we provide all children with the best start we ask that parents take children’s schooling seriously and not to book holidays during term time, or take any time off that would be unauthorised (see attendance policy for clarification). Any unauthorised holiday that meets 5 days, either in succession or in accumulation, will result in a fine.
Clubs have already started for this half term, please make sure you have paid for them this week. We run clubs with a minimun ratio, so please only sign up for a club if you can attend otherwise we have to cancel ones that don't meet the ratio often due to children and parents changing their minds.
We will place an online link on our school website where you can sign up for clubs each half term very easily.
