Carl Sagan was born on November 9th, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. Graduated from University of Chicago with a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics. He wrote a thesis on the origins of life. He spent most of his career as a college professor.

Carl Sagan was a very strong Anti-Nuclear War. He believed that having such weapons would lead to our destruction. He was arrested twice during a protest at the Nevada Test Site for hopping a chain link fence.

Interesting Facts

While not announced until his death, Carl Sagan was a strong user and supporter of marijuana. He submitted an essay to a magazine under the name of Mr. X saying that marijuana use had helped to inspire some of Sagan's works and enhance sensual and intellectual experiences.
