Facts About the American Revolution
The American Revolution started on April 19, 1775 and ended on September 3, 1783. There were many battles fought in the American Revolution. One of the is the battle of Lexington and Concord. This is were the first shots of the American Revolution were shot. No one is sure who fired first. It was called "The Shot Heard 'Round the World". Another battle was the battle of Bunker Hill. The American forces were under command of William Prescott. Prescott told his troop "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes". The American Revolution ended in the battle of Yorktown. The U.S Constitution came into effect in 1787.
