Chula Vista High School - Home of Champions!

Message from the Principal
Hello Spartans,
If your student has a COVID-related absence, please call the Attendance Office at (619)476-3310. Students will be able to receive synchronous instruction during their absence. If the absence is for five (5) or more school days, an Independent Study Contract may be requested by the student and parent/guardian, which will require BOTH student and parent signatures. Once signed, the contract will be returned to Mrs. Jones who will forward the contract to the appropriate teachers. Those on Independent Study Contracts will need to provide completed assignments to the Attendance Office to satisfy the contract and clear absences. If they are able, the student may participate in synchronous instruction. Below is the CVHS schedule for synchronous learning. Additionally, students will submit all missing assignments to teachers during the mutually agreed-upon timeframe.
How does synchronous instruction work?
Teachers will inform students how to access class links via Jupiter message/e-mail/Google Classroom/TEAMS.
Students enter class virtually during specified time.
Students will enter the class through the video-conferencing link and have access to the instructional materials being provided to the class. The student will be able to respond verbally or through chat to teacher prompts. Students should also take the opportunity to ask questions and/or clarify learning or the assignment directions.
Students are expected to remain logged on to class until excused by the teacher.
Students receive the lesson and instructional materials via Jupiter/Google/Teams.
Students will need to submit completed assignments from any class to Ms. Jones in order to satisfy their Independent Study Contract and clear absences.
For scholarship grades, students must submit all missing assignments per class to appropriate teachers in a reasonable amount of time agreed upon between the teachers and students.

Home of Champions!
Hola Spartans,
