Stop Child Abuse and Neglect!
THE BRUISES GO AWAY, BUT THE PAIN WILL REMAIN.
Child visibly distraught due to physical, verbal, and/or sexual abuse.
Why is it important?
Child abuse and neglect victims often exhibit emotional and behavioral problems growing up (mainly encompassing sexual promiscuity and substance abuse). And tragically enough, they will end up abusing their own children unless stopped.
30% to 60% of families experiencing domestic violence also abuse their children.
Implementing policies to prevent child abuse and neglect may save taxpayers $104 billion per year.
Approximately 680,000 children were subject to child abuse and neglect in 2013. More than 1,500 of them died.
Why should you help?
Abused children are victims of crime (usually committed by their parent/guardian). These children need YOU to nurture and protect them. By learning how to recognize, report, and prevent child abuse, you can fulfill this fundamental societal responsibility: to protect our children.
