Shoe Boxes & Donations Sought
Help us pack 600 shoeboxes with supplies for young children. Please send your adult sized shoe boxes with a lid to Sprague School. We need them for Operation Shoebox, a philanthropic project that sends shoeboxes filled with toys, toiletries, and school supplies to children ages 2-14 all over the world for the winter holidays. We welcome a monetary donation for the purchase of these items as well.
Please go to the bottom of the SignUpGenius page and select items you will purchase so we know what materials you plan to provide.
Back to School Bash
Sprague families, please join us on the playground to kick off the school year with neighbors and classmates from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 26. This D103 PTO event is requesting registration. The Back to School Bash will move inside if it rains. Teachers are not expected to attend.

District News
COVID Testing for Students
The District will offer a weekly COVID-19 PCR testing to all families and staff members free of charge. This year, the District has partnered with the University of Illinois’ SHIELD program to provide the tests. We have also partnered with Passport Health & Preventive Health Partners, our Operations Partner, to collect and prepare the tests for analysis.
Additionally, we will continue to provide onsite antigen testing using the BinaxNow tests for individuals exhibiting COVID like symptoms or suspected of having COVID. The BinaxNow tests will be administered at school with results in 15 minutes. Parents will be contacted prior to antigen tests being given to your child.
Testing is voluntary and will require consent to participate. If your child were to test positive, your child would need to be excluded from school and follow the guidelines listed in the IDPH Guidance. For information on testing, please refer to the FAQ document.
If you wish to participate in PCR or antigen testing, please complete the consent and waiver form by Monday August 29, 2022. Please complete a separate form for each child that will participate in testing.
Unified Classroom Decommissioning
Due to an issue reported by PowerSchool, guardians will need to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal through a new web address beginning the evening of Friday, August 26. To access the Parent Portal through the new web address, please use the following steps:
Click on the “Parent Sign In” button
On the next screen, click on the forgotten password link, and follow the instructions to reset your password and login
When prompted for an email address, enter the email address you previously used for logging into the Parent Portal/Unified Classroom.
We will send a follow up communication tomorrow to confirm when the new Parent Portal is available.
