Lunch Account Process for Seniors
Please read the following - this is the process we follow when Seniors check-out:
- Students with money remaining in their account will be asked if they have siblings in the district (or a parent!) and we can transfer the money to them.
- If there are no siblings, we will have a check sent home in the mail.
- Seniors that have an outstanding lunch balance - parents received an email yesterday with their amount owed. Please bring a check or exact change to pay the balance owed. (Remember: this has to be a separate payment from any fees owed.)
- If the student's account has less than $5.00, you can donate to a student in need or have the amount sent home via check. Anyone is always welcome to donate to students in need. We always have several students that have a negative balance. Just let us know when you are at that station on checkout day.
Senior Parade Planned for May 20
A group of staff members have been planning various activities to honor our Class of 2020! Your teachers and staff members have missed you so, and we want to congratulate you on your accomplishments!
We'd like to host a Senior Parade on Wednesday, May 20, through the PCHS campus, starting at 2:30 pm.
Here's the plan:
- Seniors (and parents/guardians if desired) arrive in vehicles, and meet/park in the Platte City Middle School parking lots (both in front and back) to be ready for a 2:30pm parade start. REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLES and please maintain safe physical distancing.
- Our parade route (attached) will be led by a PCR-3 staffer or the Platte City Police Department. Teachers and staff will be lined up along the route waving and cheering you on!
- Proceed through the route, maintaining safe distance in your vehicles.
- You'll exit on 92 Highway at the northern exit of PCHS parking lot and proceed south/east on 92.
- You are encouraged to continue your senior parade in your own neighborhood and parents/students can promote this in your neighborhood.
- Wear your cap and gown if you wish - we may have an opportunity to have a quick photo taken.
REMINDER OF CHECKOUT PROCEDURES
Thank you for your patience as we thoughtfully planned for this activity. Please make plans to attend the Senior Checkout date per your last name as listed below.
Monday, May 18th, 3-5 PM: A-M
Tuesday, May 19th, 3-5 PM: N-Z
Please check your parent portal for any outstanding fines and fees. Please bring either a check or exact money to pay for the total amount. If your child has a book, athletic obligations, uniforms, library books, etc. to turn in, please bring those items with you to check out.
If those items are not returned, a replacement fee will be assessed.
*Please note - Lunch accounts are separate from fines and fees. Please bring a separate check or exact cash/change for lunch if there is a negative balance. A report on your student's lunch balance was emailed this week.
Students will move through stations, starting with turning in their Chromebook, Chromebook charger, and Chromebook bag. From there, students will turn in items, clean out their lockers, and pay fines and fees. There will be specific stations to do so.
**Note: If a student is still taking an AP exam, they may keep their Chromebook until they have completed.
During this process, students will have an opportunity to pick up any honor cords and stoles. At this time, we are still working on plans for an in-person graduation ceremony. We are also working on alternate plans, should we be unable to gather on July 30.
IMPORTANT:
- It is recommended that parents and students wear their own personal masks during this checkout procedure.
- Staff members that are assisting in the checkout process will wear masks and gloves.
- One student and one adult is the maximum allowed during this process.
- Social distancing guidelines should be followed.
- Bring a bag to clean out your locker.
- Park in front of Paxton and the south side of the main building.
- Enter at Paxton. First station you will go to is at the Paxton Center.
- Exit through the main high school Welcome Center doors.
