I hope you and your family are well-rested from Thanksgiving Break and that you were able to spend quality time with family and friends. We are back in full swing with Montessori lessons, small group lessons, students growing to be more independent, and a buzz of joy around the building!

We have about three weeks of instruction until the end of the semester, which means about three weeks until our 3rd - 4th grade students show up and show out on ACPs. The semester's closing will help tell us whether we are on track with your children and where we need to tweak our plans for the spring semester.

We are also well into our recruitment season for 2023 - 2024! If you know of prospective families, please ask them to join our 2nd Virtual Open House this Thursday at 5:30 PM! They will have an opportunity to learn more about our campus and hear from the faculty and families of DMA. We are now accepting applications for new DMA students for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents can apply from November 1, 2022, to January 31, 2023, at choose.dallasisd.org or on our website www.dallasisd.org/downtownmontessori. If you already have a student at our campus and would like to apply for a sibling, you must submit an application for the new sibling. Please note sibling entry is not guaranteed. Feel free to contact the front office with questions at 972-749-2500.

SMU Athletics is currently planning the 2023 SMU Junior Cheerleaders College Visit for K-6 grade students. Participants will have the opportunity to step foot on a COLLEGE CAMPUS to perform during halftime of an SMU NCAA basketball game vs

East Carolina on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Tip-off is 2:00 pm.

The program will feature the following phenomenal opportunities:

CHEER/DANCE CLINICS

HALFTIME PERFORMANCE

EDUCATIONAL WORKBOOK WITH ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM

Participation will provide physical exercise, develop coordination, and build self-esteem in a fun
and exciting educational environment.

Just wanted to send a friendly reminder of this weekend’s events and activities around downtown this weekend.

Attached you’ll find a notice for the Dallas Holiday Parade (DHP) describing ALL road closures for Saturday morning. Please be advised that certain areas of Commerce Street have begun installation of bleachers for the DHP. Bleachers are being placed out starting today through Friday evening and will be taken down starting after the parade has concluded. The tear down of the bleachers should be completed by Tuesday (December 6th) 5pm.
