congratulations Mrs. Haas
tears and cheers virtual coffee
Mrs. Haas kicked off the school year hosting a virtual Tears and Cheers Virtual Social on our first day of school. It was great to connect with so many parents on Zoom. Whether their children we learning from home or came into school that morning, all the parents spoke of how excited their children were to get back to school!
Mrs. Haas will be hosting monthly virtual coffee sessions. Please watch future editions of the Eagle's Eye for information regarding dates and times.
Taking Precautions
dismissal
Way to go parents! Today's afternoon carline was so much better! Thank you for having the app and for being patient. As you noticed today, we tweaked the way that we do things, and it worked! Once you are safely in the parking lot, please "announce" yourself on the app and be prepared to show the employee working carline the white screen with your child's name and three digit number. Please understand that as you approach the front of the carline, we have to place you in order within the program to alert your child that it is time to come outside.
The other way we need help is having students move quickly once they leave the classroom. We will be talking to our students about the reason we are doing carline this way and the importance of moving at an acceptable pace, this is especially the case for some of our middle school students.
We have been starting afternoon carline a little bit early yesterday and today. Beginning tomorrow, we will be shifting our start time to be closer to the scheduled elementary dismissal time of 2:45pm.
Middle school parents, as you saw today, we will not be able to call for your child until 3:10pm (notice that this is a change in our schedule as middle school dismissal had been previously announced as 3:15pm).
Carline will end at 3:35pm. Remaining students will go to aftercare.
Morning Carline
WOW EAGLES! This morning's carline was amazing! We were done with the line by 7:57am, the scheduled end time of morning carline. Thank you for doing a great job of being prompt to school and having your child ready for his/her temperature check as teachers approach your car.
Beginning on Monday, if your child has not EXITED your vehicle BY 7:57am, you will have to drive around to the office parking lot and sign your child in tardy.
Middle School Chromebooks
We are preparing to distribute chromebooks to our middle school students. Before students will be issued a Chromebook, there are three items that must be fulfilled:
- Attend a class with Mrs. Pierce on acceptable use and internet safety.
- Have a signed Chromebook Agreement by parent and student.
- Sign the Diocesan Network Acceptable Use Policy.
If your child attended Boot Camp (virtually or in person), the first item is satisfied. Many students who attend school have already returned the Chromebook Agreement. For our virtual learners, or those attending in school that need another copy, you can download the file below.
The Diocesan Network Acceptable Use Policy can be found on our school website. After you review it with your child, please print and send in the signature page(s). We will have hard copies available for our students tomorrow.
Once these items are satisfied, we will begin issuing chromebooks. We are hopeful to have chromebooks available tomorrow for parents of virtual learners when you come to pick up your class materials for next week.
Welcome Back!
Virtual Learners
Parents of students learning from home, please remember to pop by the school tomorrow, Friday, to pick up your hard copies of materials that you will need next week. If you were at SJCS last year, please ask for a copy of the yearbook at the same time.
Middle schoolers, bring your two signed documents (Chromebook Agreement and Diocesan Network Acceptable Use Policy) with you tomorrow, and we will give you a Chromebook.
