Back-to-School Kickoff Is Next Sunday!
The Back-to-School Kickoff will be here in just over a week! It's a good time, and a great way to reconnect with families and friends from last year and the perfect way to welcome new families to our school! We hope to see Sunday, August 27, from 1-4pm on the Irvington grounds.
The details:
- Food: Free popcorn and popsicles! Bring your own water bottles, please!
- Activities: Foam party and facepaint! The foam party will run from 1:30-2:30. Learn more here, and consider bringing along a change of clothes.
- Stock up on Irvington gear at the merch table!
- Stop by the "Get to Know You" table to get your grade-level color coded wristband, and by the PTA table to learn more about what we do and how you can help the school!
And, of course, we need your help! Several volunteers are needed to help this event run smoothly. There's something for everyone: set up or take down, popcorn popping or the drink station. Please SIGN UP HERE!
Community Care Day TOMORROW!
All are invited to join in the upcoming Community Care Day on Saturday, August 19, 9-12pm, at the school playground. Project Community Cares is an annual PPS tradition where school families and community volunteers clean up school grounds across the district prior to the first day of school.
No need to register for the event, just show up ready to work! The Irvington PTA will provide snacks, and please bring your own water bottle. Bring tools if you have them (e.g., work gloves, wheelbarrow, edger, broom, shovel); extra tools will be available as well. Potential volunteer needs include spreading mulch, weeding, edging, sweeping, and trimming. Our school grounds are used for lots of activities: sports, play, picnics, exercise, gathering, gardening. Let's make our school shine!
