We had a wonderful winter activities week in specials this week! Thank you to the PTO, our Specialists, and the many volunteers that assisted throughout the week. We inserted some photos below and more will be featured in our monthly video!
Thank you to those who joined us for Family Engagement Night. It was an informative evening for all. Thank you also to our presenters and high school students who provided childcare, we couldn't have done it without you! If you missed the evening and would like to review the slides presented, please find them below within this weeks newsletter.
The February 5th PTO meeting is coming up. We would love to have you join us, childcare will be provided for this event too.
On February 7th, South Row will celebrate Global Play Day. Grade level teams will set aside a 1 to 2 hour block in their classrooms for free play, without the use of screens, structured games, or adult direction. We hope families and students will embrace this child centered celebration. More information is below.

Reminders & Updates
Global Play Day: South Row will be celebrating Global Play Day on February 7th. Classroom teachers will work with their respective teams to determine a 1 to 2 hour block of time on February 7th for free play without the use of screens, structured games, or adult direction. Classroom teachers may reach out if they would like to encourage students to bring in any items (like games) from home.
Buses: We have heard reports from families that some busses have been arriving early, late, or skipping stops. We have reached out to the transportation department and the bus company. We sincerely apologize for any Inconveniences. In the meantime, we recommend that families consider providing an extra 10 minutes on either end of the pick up time.
Coats Coats Coats: The cold is upon us! Many students continue to come to school without a coat. We send students outside for recess on most days and are asking parents to make sure their child has a coat. Please talk to your child about making sure they have a coat on or in their backpack.
Reminder: Students should wear a winter jacket, hat, and gloves to school as we will do our very best to get outside for recess. In order to go into the snow, students must wear boots.
PD Day Calendar Adjustment (Early Release Day Change): The March professional development day has been moved to Tuesday, March 5th which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th. Therefore, Please see more details on the rationale to this move, please click on Dr. Lang's 12/1/23 update.
