The Leprechauns Played Tricks on ELC

On St. Patrick's Day, across the ELC, in the Day Care, the Leprechauns snuck in and out of classrooms. Some left notes, some made messes, a lot of them left confetti in the shapes of shamrocks, pots of gold, and yes some even left candy. Our tricky 3,4,5 year olds tried to catch them but those Leprechauns are really sneaky! Hope everyone enjoyed being a little Irish this week!

Decision about Assessments

Mr. Broten is meeting with the reading team, Mrs. Cowling, and myself next week to look at the use of PALS. He has already met with the 4K teachers to get their input, and we will be looking to make decisions soon as we would need to order the tests we plan to use.

Congratulations to Mrs. Melanie Cowling

Last Friday, Melanie Cowling was awarded the WCAA Administrator award for all the region of CESA 6. Melanie, has been in education for 39 years and has continued to support special education in NFDL . She has been an advocate for co teaching, for believing that every child will be included, and has worked diligently to support all students. At FLC, she has continued to partner with universities and colleges, to provide placements for hundreds of student teachers, clinicals, and practicum students. She has worked as an EPIC for Educator Effectiveness, and has brought many different forms of professional development here to us. She is also an advocate of using Strengths Theory and is that model of being a life long learner. A colleague, mentor and friend to all of us... Congratulations Mrs. Cowling!
