Message from Mrs. Morgan:

Happy New Year! During the winter break, I hope you had the chance to catch up with friends and family and enjoy some rest and relaxation.

On Monday, January 3rd, Walton County School District sent an email regarding the COVID-19 protocols to all families and made some changes to align them with the new DPH and CDC guidelines.

At this time, we are going to implement some temporary changes to increase mitigation efforts and continue providing safe in-person learning environments for our students and staff. We will adjust these measures as we continue to monitor our data over the next two weeks.

  • Volunteers are not permitted in the building during this time.

  • Parents will need to drop off and pick up their children outside the school building during arrival and dismissal times.

  • Classroom desks in grades 1-5 will be placed in rows.

  • Large group gatherings will be limited inside the school; will include fewer students in the cafeteria and skipping seats.

  • Social distancing will be encouraged.

  • All students and staff members are encouraged to wear masks.

  • Lunch visitation and upcoming PTO events will be postponed.

  • Students or staff members who are exposed at home and cannot isolate themselves from the positive individual should be required to quarantine at home for 5 days.

Please know the health and safety of our students and staff remain our top priority. Thank you again for your partnership, cooperation, and support as we implement these temporary measures to support in-person learning.
