Principal's Message
It's a new year! There are so many things about education that I cherish, and one of those things is how each year is a brand new start. For most, the new year is January 1st, for educators and students, it's September 1st, and many other variations throughout the world. Stepping into any version of a new year is always an important journey. In my culture, we throw a pomegranate against the front door, enter with the right foot, and set our mind on positive intentions. In the culture of some of my extended family members, 12 grapes are consumed at midnight, along with 12 wishes put out into the universe. Speak to your children and help them to realize that setting goals and aspirations is important, but, should we miss the mark, opportunity always exists to try again, and maybe that second round will be just what the doctor ordered. Welcome to 2023! Happy to be at the threshold of this new year with you all.
Mr. Monafis

Research βοΈ
Is there anything more complicated than helping your student with math homework? I know I speak for many when I say, the way math is taught these days is vastly different from how we learned when we were in school. That doesn't mean that you, as parents, are powerless, however. There are plenty of activities for all age groups that you can do at home to build the strong foundational skills necessary to navigate some of the more difficult concepts in the older grades. Leave the division with decimals to us! Click the picture to the right to see some "on-the-go" lessons you can do at home to reinforce math facts that are powerful pieces to mathematical reasoning.

Meet Mr. Kauth π
Mr. Kauth has been teaching at Wall for three years. His favorite part about teaching is addressing the challenge of not only answering a question but backing it up with reasoning and evidence. His childhood hero was his head swim coach who taught him respect and responsibility. His hidden talent is his love of cooking; he has several special meals up his sleeve. One thing he wishes all his students to know is that when you feel the most challenged and stuck during the school day, that instance presents the greatest opportunity to grow and overcome.
