Ferson Creek eNews

From the Principal...Kristy McKnight
Ferson Creek is having their very first Talent Show! Your children should have come home with permission slips yesterday. If you didn't see it, you can find it below. I am looking forward to seeing all of the different talents showcased in this event!
It's that time of year where we seem to start the race to the finish line! Kindergarten registration will take place on February 5th. For all of the 5th grade parents, 6th grade Explore selection forms went home earlier this week. The information is shared again below with links to the course descriptions and an informative video.
As a reminder, there is no school on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day. Enjoy the bonus day with your children!
Have a great weekend,
5th Grade Students and Parents
Middle School Transfer Requests
Families who wish to submit Middle School Transfer requests may do so beginning February 3. The request form will be available on the District 303 website through February 28. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want transferred. Requests are granted based on space available so siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.
Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.
Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance are responsible for their own transportation.
Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.
On Friday March 14, we will be participating in the Cal's Angels Just Shave it Event.
This event raises funds to support the Cal's Angels mission. This mission is to help kiddos who are fighting cancer by granting wishes, raising awareness and funding clinical trial research.
Ferson Creek will be raising funds and honoring our very own Jimmy Schafer, who continues his battle with cancer.
Your children can participate by registering to shave their head, cutting their hair to donate or simply fundraising. We will also be selling items the week before in the foyer that your children can purchase to support this mission. Watch your email for more information and see the flyer below for event details.
