OTHER NOTES:
Compliance Training Modules need to be completed by October 1st.
Teachers need to have their doors locked and magnet in door with door closed during the day.
Snack Time and Read Alouds from Education World:
If your grade level lets students bring snacks, please make sure they are eating them while working. We should not stop the day for “snack time.” Students should not be watching a movie (or Tumblebooks) while eating a snack. If you want students to eat snack during read aloud, that is fine but it should be you reading to students.
“Reading aloud to children helps them develop and improve literacy skills -- reading, writing, speaking, and listening, Trelease adds. And since children listen on a higher level than they read, listening to other readers stimulates growth and understanding of vocabulary and language patterns.”
