Veterans Day Celebration Nov 11

On Friday, November 11th 2022, we will be honoring the men and women who have served this great nation in all military branches. Our Veterans Day Celebration at BBE will include the following:


8:30 am: Veterans reception with a light brunch for invited guests in the BBE cafeteria

9:00 am: Veterans assembly with students, slideshow, Honor Choir, and guest speaker in the BBE cafeteria

9:30 am: The assembly will be dismissed and students will proceed to the fence on Tree Lane with signs and banners to cheer for our veterans as they form a car parade


Students may invite any immediate family member who is currently serving or who has previously served. For the slideshow, please email a photo of your invited veteran to veterans@bbepta.com, with the following information: Veteran's Name, Service Detail, Email Address

Please submit this form to Pre-register your veteran and all family members who will attend. We will pre-print visitor badges for all who pre-register and who have previously had your drivers license scanned.

Thanksgiving Feast

This year Humble ISD Child Nutrition Services is planning once again to welcome family and friends to our Elementary Thanksgiving Banquets!


BBE will enjoy our Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, November 17. The menu is posted below.


How to purchase a Thanksgiving meal:

  • STUDENTS: $2.50 - purchase in the student lunch line on feast day using your lunch account funds
  • PARENTS / GUESTS: $5.00 - pre-purchase online **(preferred for quicker service) OR purchase with cash in the student lunch line on feast day (due to limited cash at the campus, any change due will be credited to your student's lunch account). We are not equipped to accept credit card purchases on feast day.


**Please be sure to select BBE from the dropdown menu when purchasing online, as multiple schools are hosting their Thanksgiving feast on the same day, and tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.


ALL VISITORS MUST CHECK-IN to the front office upon arrival. Please RSVP to have your visitor badge preprinted to bypass the check-in line!


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Please volunteer for a 1-hour shift and receive a FREE Thanksgiving Feast meal ticket! (The volunteer sign-up on bbepta.com will be up soon - please check back often)

Picture orders from the October 14 picture day will go home with students this week. If you did not place an order, your child will receive a "last chance" proof and order form instead.

Lunch Visitor Policy

Any Day: Student Birthday / Half Birthday

Tuesdays: Kindergarten & 4th Grades

Wednesdays: 1st & 3rd Grades

Thursdays: 2nd & 5th Grades


All visitors must check-in to the front office upon arrival, have your drivers license scanned, and wear your visitor badge while on campus. Lunch visitors will be directed to sit at the visitor designated table with their child. Eating outside with your child utilizing the picnic table areas is open everyday.

It's that time of year!

GENERAL CLINIC GUIDELINE REMINDERS-


As always, it is important to keep your child home when he/she does not feel well.

Daily health checks must be done prior to sending your child to school.


What does your student need to thrive every day at school?

  • Sleep! (approximately 9 hours per night)

  • Breakfast and snacks

  • Water Bottle - PLEASE make sure you send your child with a water bottle

  • Change of Clothes in the backpack esp K-2 (accidents of all kinds can/do happen)


Please do NOT send your child to school if he/she has:

  • Flu-like symptoms: fever >100, cough, sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches, runny nose, or headaches
  • Coronavirus / COVID-19

  • Temperature of 100 ºFahrenheit or higher – measured when no fever suppressing medication has been administered within the past 24 hours.

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea in the past 24 hours

  • Persistent, hacking cough

  • Continually runny nose with white, green, or yellow mucus

  • Eyes that appear swollen, red, and weeping

  • Strep throat - may return 24 hours after the antibiotic is started and fever has subsided.

  • Rash of unknown cause anywhere on the body

  • Lice - excluded until all live lice have been removed, they must be walked into school by a parent to be checked by the nurse before returning to class.

November is Diabetes & Epilepsy Awareness Month

Did you know that here at BBE, we have several students and teachers with Diabetes, and several staff members with family members who have Epilepsy ?


Let's show our support by wearing blue on Monday, November 14th for World Diabetes Day. Check out the clinic bulletin board for facts about Diabetes, or visit the American Diabetes Association website.


Information about Epilepsy may be found on the Epilepsy Foundation website. International Epilepsy Day will be on February 14, 2023.

Texas PTA Reflections

BBE PTA is accepting entries for the annual Reflections competition. This competition allows students to express their creative abilities through visual arts, photography, literature, dance, music, film production and through the Special Artist Division. This year's theme is "Show Your Voice!" Entry forms and guidelines are located on the Reflections website. You may enter as many times as you like in any of the categories so get those creative juices flowing! All entries should be placed in the “Reflections” box in the front hallway by Wednesday, November 30 at 10 am. No late entries will be accepted. For further information, contact PTA Reflections Chair Brittany Francis at reflections@bbepta.com
