Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
October 2022 Newsletter
“Kids know when they are valued. They know - by either words or actions - what a teacher thinks of them, and it can either build them up or tear them down."

As KPRDSB develops its understanding of Equity, we would like to support schools in ensuring equity of access to all school functions. A key question in Equity is always around Intent versus Impact- regardless of the intent, if there is a harmful impact upon a member of a school community, then the situation is inequitable.
Spirit Days are a valuable event to build community within a school. They help to bring up morale, especially in more difficult times, and can bring school together. That being said, those same events can have themes that have unintended negative impacts upon students and staff.
