Welcome to Mrs. Dancy and Mrs. Parkers Kindergarten Classroom. We are SO thankful to have you as part of our family. November is a month filled with fun, joy, learning, and refining new skills we have learned. Kinders grow so much in the month of November! :)
Week of November 14th to November 18th
Important Reminders
~I have enjoyed meeting with you at conferences. If you haven't signed up for a time to meet with me, please do so on the link below. Please don't forget if you have signed up for a day/time this upcoming week!
~We will honor our Veterans this Thursday evening as the 4th and 5th graders will be performing. You are all invited to come out for our PTO program. You can visit the classroom beginning at 6:00 and it's floating until 6:45.
~Friday is School Spirit Day. Please have your child wear his/her WES shirt or green.
~There is NO SCHOOL next week (November 21-25) for Thanksgiving Break.
~Keep up the great work with the homework routine! Great job on baggie books and Weekly Words Recognition!
~Don't forget to send a healthy snack and water bottle each day with your child.
~Please make sure we know how your child will go home each day. If you have changes in transportation, please call the office and send me a Dojo message.

What Are We Learning This Week?
Reading
I can tell the sounds for the letters of the alphabet.
I can name the beginning sound heard in words.
I can name some uppercase and lowercase letters.
I can recognize words that rhyme.
I can segment and blend sounds in words (cvc words).
Math
I can add and subtract numbers within 5.
Social Studies
I can tell about the First Thanksgiving and its importance.
Science
I can tell about pumpkins and how and what they need to grow.
Nightly "Homework"
**We will have new "Weekly Words" this week. We will send home 5-6 sight words each week for recognition only. Students will need to practice recognizing/reading their Weekly Words each night. High-Frequency word recognition is very important - 90% of texts students read use these "high-frequency words".

- Chant the words
