Reminder: Lock Down Drill Feb. 8th, 2016

Just a reminder that our announced Lock Down Drill is scheduled for this upcoming Monday, Feb. 8th, 2016. All emergency procedures were provided to staff in September during a pd supported by Jack Grogan. The office has sent out a review of the expectations/procedures as well as extra copies of the sheet from September. If you are in need of this sheet, please stop by the office to obtain it. Review the expectations of scholars during this time as well. A letter to families as well as an SNN will go out the same day following our drill.

Rube Goldberg Trials and Tribulations! Scholars shine bright as they take time to collaborate, problem solve, use critical thinking skills, inquiry.....TOAST Mission all the way!!! ( Nice work Mrs. Holley's Scholars!)

Yearbooks this Year at TOAST!!!

I am very excited to announce that there will be yearbooks this year at TOAST. Our friends at Life Touch have offered to help us out this year and play a major role in the overall development of this years book, but they need our help! Any pictures that you have taken this year can be part of the yearbook! Life Touch will be setting us a link for TOAST staff to upload pictures to. My favorite parts of this collaboration is that our families will also be able to upload any pictures that they have taken at school events so our yearbook is one that is a collaboration created with our entire school community. The cover of the yearbook will be created by our 6th grade scholars, but final information on that will come at a later date!

GLM Time becomes Affirmation Time at TOAST for Feb. 8-Feb 12th, 2016

This week, all GLM times will be used to take time and see the amazing examples of Reading for Information that grades Pre-k through 6th grade have displayed. All you need it a pack of post-it notes and a pen. Wait until you see the amazing work that our youngest and oldest scholars have been completed thanks to the hard work of our TOAST staff! If you need post-its, don't hesitate to stop by the office and pick some up.

Let's highlight awesome TOAST scholars and have a good laugh with our favorite President!

I'll end this week on a light note, but a challenge for us to take on at TOAST. We often have our young ladies-in-training at TOAST walking with heads down and tend to exhibit a lack of confidence. I spend many days simply reminding many of them that they should always be proud of who they are and walk with their heads up, proud and a smile never hurts..:-) I often wonder if they just don't know how awesome they are! I try everyday to remind our young ladies-in-training that they are just that....awesome! I hope you will join with me and I plan to take on this request from Kid President in the video below. I will say that it is quite funny, but a great video to begin highlighting how powerful and AWESOME girls are..:-) Enjoy!
