8th Grade Invasion
8th grade Parents,
8th grade Invasion is taking place on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. 8th grade students are visiting their zoned High School (Connally or Weiss). Students are leaving campus around 9:15 am and returning to campus around 2:00 pm. Students will receive a tour of the campus, and learn about CTE programs. Preparation for High School is starting now, High School course selection is next and will occur in February.
8th Grade Invasion helps our rising high school freshmen see what is available to them and find the right academic path for them so they can be prepared when course selection cards are issued later this semester to choose their classes for 2022-23.
This event is for 8th grade students ONLY. Transportation to and from the event will be provided.
School Links
The district is pleased to introduced SchooLinks, a college and career readiness platform, for our 8th -12th grade students. Students in grades 8-12 should have completed the SchooLinks Onboarding process at their campus in October. Part of this process asks students to invite one parent/guardian to join to view the student account. Parents can access instructions given to students to invite them to use SchooLinks here. Parents, please use the Parent Guardian SchooLinks Access Instructions to create your account. Discuss the results of your student’s Find Your Path Assessment, completed during the onboarding process. Support your learner in using the platform to discover careers, colleges, and to explore financial readiness for their steps beyond high school. This platform will be utilized for course selection and four year planning this Spring, so it is vital all parents of students in grades 8-11 have an account to review course selection and approve their student’s four-year plan. More information about course selection will be shared in the spring semester. Contact your student’s counselor with questions about using the SchooLinks platform with your learner.
