Becoming a Journalist
The minimum degree required to become a journalist is a Bachelors degree. The American University in Washington DC, has one of the best Journalism schools in the United States. That's where I'd like to go.
School Information
Tuition for a Bachelor's degree is $21,278 per academic semester. Plus $273 in extra student activity fees. It is $3,621 per semester for a triple bunk original dorm. To apply to the American University you have to finish filling out the common application, send SAT scores, get recommendations from both a high school and college counselor,pay a non- refundable fee of $70, and a mid-year report. AU had an enrollment of 13,061 students in 2014.
Location Information
The American University is located in Washington DC. Some local points of interest are The White House, The Smithsonian, The Newseum, and Union Market. DC in the Spring has many blooming Cheery Blossoms and pleasant temperatures; with highs ranging from the 30's to 50's. During the Summer the temp averages in the 80's and humidity is about 60%. The Fall is a bit warmer than the Spring with lower temperatures ranging from 40 to 60 degrees. The Winters are filled with low temperatures, snow, and ice. The normal winter snowfall is 17 inches. The geography of the District of Columbia, is mostly flat, rising up from the banks of the Potamic river.

To get to the college I want to got to I will try to get as much experience as I can while I'm still in High School. I will get good grades and prepare myself for having to make my own way in the world. To get some more journalist experience, I will take journalism and photography classes. I will also try to do some writing workshops as well. I will utilize the teachers I have here to get as much knowledge as I can.
