Silver Trail Elementary

Weekly Rundown --- August 27, 2021

We had a great first week of school!

We had such a wonderful first week! The students seem to be getting the hang of routines and are enjoying meeting new friends. We took so many new photos that we shared on Facebook!

Important Times:

School starts at 8:50 and ends at 3:35.

Early release every Wednesday at 1:35.

Free breakfast is offered in the cafeteria from 8:30-8:45.

The playground will remain closed in the morning and students are to go to their classroom doors until the bell rings at 8:48 to line up. There is no outside supervision prior to 8:35.

Starting Monday

Starting Monday, August 30th, parents will not be permitted in the building, unless they need to come to the office or are volunteering in the classroom with pre-approval from the teacher.

Parents will need to stop at the fences on either side of the building to allow students to walk independently to classrooms.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Keyboarding offered 2-5

We are excited to offer Keyboarding for our 2-5 grade students. They will be working on their keyboarding skills, computer skills, internet safety, coding, etc. Please welcome Mrs. Gustin to our team of special teachers!

COVID Protocols from Kuna School District

  • The Kuna Board of Trustees will consider the 2021-22 COVID Operations Plan at its Sept. 14 regular meeting. As previously shared, the district will use the mask policy approved by the Board in May 2021. Under the policy, school will start on Aug. 26 with mask use optional. Here is the latest operational plan.

  • Please read and be familiar with the COVID19 Decision Tree being implemented in ALL Kuna School District schools.

Breakfast is served in the cafeteria daily from 8:30-8:45. If your child will be eating breakfast, please have them enter through the front doors and go to the cafeteria. They are to sit at their assigned teacher's table. Students will then exit outside at 8:45 to go line up and head into class at 8:50.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up

Thank you so much for your cooperation on Friday. Friday's drop off and pick up both went more smooth.

As a reminder here are the parking lot rules:

Students can be dropped off and picked up in the drop off/pick up lane in the south parking lot. A map is below showing what drop off/pick up looks like. If you plan to walk your student up to the building, you can park in either parking lot. Please do not park and have your students walk alone to the car or to the building. Our parking lots are very busy and we need to keep our students safe.

The west parking lot lane is a bus lane. DO NOT park or drop students off in this lane. This was a huge safety issue last school year that we don't want to have to worry about again.

Thank you so much for doing your part to ensure our students and parking lots are safe.

Every Friday is Spirit Day! Students can wear Silver Trail swag, navy or gray, or their favorite sports/college teams. Show your school pride!

We will be opening an online store of Silver Trail gear in September. More info to come!

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram! Our Instagram page is going to be run by our 5th grade students (with the support/guidance of Mrs. Ritter). It should be a great opportunity for families to get an inside look of the lives of Silver Trail students on a day to day basis.
