School Pictures - Posted and Ready for Online Orders
B & E Photography took school pictures for both on campus and remote learners in September. Those pictures are now available for view and to order through the link below. Pictures will be delivered to the school or you may select to have them mailed to your home.
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessments
All students have been assessed with the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) in September. Students in 5th grade were assessed in math, reading and science. Students in 6th grade were assessed in math and reading. MAP Is an assessment that is given at the beginning, middle and end of the year to students to measure growth in the respective areas and let us know what they are ready to learn. In the next few days we will send individual growth and progress charts home. Remote students will receive this information in the mail. Reports will be distributed to on campus students to take home for your review. If you wish to visit with any of your child's teachers please let them know or call the front office to schedule a parent conference. (972-429-3350)
Patriot Pride Awards & Celebrations
We will celebrate with our students on Wednesday, October 21st all of their Term 1 progress and accomplishments. We will celebrate with both on campus and remote learners that day. All celebrations will be recorded and all links sent out via Skyward, Facebook and Twitter Wednesday, October 21st to view. All certificates and spirit sticks for remote learners will be mailed home and awards will be handed out to on campus learners on Wednesday. We look forward to celebrating our kiddos!
UNITY in our COMMUNITY - Wednesday, October 21st
We are super excited to partner with our Diversity & Inclusion department for Unity Day this year! As always, we want the day to be focused on “together against bullying- united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.” Make sure to wear orange to support Unity in our commUNITY.
Student Celebration - Freedom Fest, Friday, October 23rd
Students have an opportunity to earn tickets each term from teachers and staff members for making good choices, helping out, working hard, achieving goals, etc. We strive to catch our kiddos "doing good" for others and themselves throughout the term. At the end of each term, students may cash the tickets accumulated in and sign up for an activity of choice. We will run an alternate schedule that shortens each class by a few minutes to create 45 minutes at the end of the day for students to participate in their chosen activity on Friday, October 23rd. Remote students will run an alternate schedule and have various links of available Freedom Fest activities to choose from too. Congratulations to all of our Draper Intermediate students!
Book Fair, Book Fair, Book Fair...
Our Fall Book Fair will be held Oct. 19-23! On Campus students will have the opportunity to shop in person throughout the week, though we will be unable to have a parent night during this fair. We encourage parents to use Scholastic’s eWallet cashless system for students purchasing items from the fair but cash will also be accepted. Even though Remote students will not be able to shop the book fair in person, they can shop online and your books will be shipped to your home. On Campus students may shop online as well if they choose. All purchases benefit our school library!
Student Badges...
Please have your child wear their student ID badge to school each day. Their ID badge allows us to scan their student ID number in the cafeteria lunch lines and in the library which support touch free environment for the safety of our student and staff. Thank you for your help and cooperation!
Learning Term 2
Students planning to change their mode of instruction for Term 2 will make that change beginning on Monday, October 26th. Mode of instruction for Term 2 was determined by the district's September 25th survey to parents. If you have questions about your child's mode of instruction for Term 2, please contact the school as soon as possible. At the beginning of next week, look for a newsletter with additional information about the transition for students.
