A Message from Miss Buchko
Dear MacArthur Families,
Don't forget that this Saturday, March 18th is our Fun Fair at the Lake County Fairgrounds Industrial Arts Building from 11:00 - 3:00. A HUGE thank you to our PTO, all our volunteers, and to everyone who helped donate items for our Fun Fair. Running a Fun Fair is a ton of work and I know I am grateful to everyone for helping support our Fun Fair. The main goal of our Fun Fair is for our students to have a great time so, again thank you everyone for your help and support.
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
Have a great weekend.
Marian Buchko

Semester Grades
Semester Grades
Elementary schools have joined our middle and high schools in reporting grades at the end of each semester. Previously, elementary report cards were finalized each nine weeks. We are shifting to reporting at the end of each semester so that students have a longer time to demonstrate what they know and can do. Our focus is on mastery learning and supporting a growth mindset in our learners.
We encourage parents/caregivers to monitor their student’s academic development throughout the semester by viewing the Buzz Gradebook, reviewing the daily Buzz Agendas, reading the newsletters sent by teachers, and communicating with teachers regarding any specific questions.
We recommend that you check your student’s grades in Buzz throughout the semester. We strongly encourage you to check your student’s progress at the end of nine weeks (March 13) in Buzz. Grades from specials (art, music, PE) will not be reported until the end of the semester. By checking your student’s grades regularly you can partner with our teachers to support your child’s growth.
Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher should you have any questions about their progress or to learn more about how you can partner with us to support your child’s academic development.
