November 27- Covid19 Update
- Happy Thanksgiving to All! We have much to be grateful for at SD ECLC. Students, families and staff remain in good health.
- SD ECLC reported a laboratory confirmed positive Covid19 case to the Monmouth County Health Department on Thanksgiving Eve. Thank you to parents of students who were asked to quarantine for your understanding. Thank you Mrs. Nicholl from LDS, Mrs. Marinelli from RHS, and Mrs. Esposito from RVS for your support and Hazlet team work.
- Whether in person or virtual, Grinch Day and Polar Express Day WILL GO ON AS PLANNED! Virtual Parents/Guardians please pick up PTO goodies between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm on Thurs, Dec. 3. The PTO has provided bells, popcorn, chocolate milk for Polar Express Day and a Grinch Heart for Grinch Day. Teachers may have instructional resources for pick up as well. Virtual students are encouraged to dress up or wear pajamas.
- Thank you teachers, paras and staff for your resilience and dedication.
A Word from Mrs. Dorozynski
Thank you for your support these past few months. We make a great team.
SD ECLC students are learning, demonstrating growth, making new friends and have established meaningful relationships with teachers and paraprofessionals.
As I said in my first newsletter as principal, we are all in the same storm but not all in the same boat. As the new year unfolds we continue to offer in person and virtual learning opportunities for our students. Every day we celebrate the wonder of learning and recognize the potential in every child.
I wish all of our families a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
Best,
Mrs. Dorozynski

Social Emotional Learning Fun!
GRINCH DAY December 4
This month preschool and kindergarten students will read the classic Dr. Seuss story
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas". Students will learn how to grow the Grinch's' heart (which is two sizes too small) with acts of kindness. Each day, I will announce a new kindness goal for students to try. Then we will play a Holiday song over the school intercom and sing and dance. With each passing day, as students demonstrate acts of kindness, the Grinch's heart will grow bigger and bigger!
On Dec. 4, we will officially celebrate with GRINCH DAY!
Staff and students are encouraged to dress up like the characters in the story.
Ideas include wearing green, red, a Grinch shirt, antlers like the Grinch's dog Max, or create a who inspired hair do! SD ECLC will be transformed into WHOVILLE! Students will receive a special Grinch Heart from the PTO, too!
“And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of ten Grinches, plus two!” –How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
PTO Scholastic Book Fair
Weather permitting, age appropriate children's books will be set up outside for student purchase. Books will range in price from $5.00 to $25.00. For books sold, the PTO earns Scholastic Reward Dollars that have enabled us to purchase items for our school.
School Spirit Day Friday, Dec. 11 Wear green or school spirit wear!
School Picture Re-take Day is Wednesday, Dec. 16!
All Aboard the Polar Express!
Polar Express Pajama Day Friday, Dec. 18.
What could be more fun than wearing your pajamas to school?
To extend the story, "The Polar Express" by Chis Van Allsburg students will wear pajamas like the story characters. We will all pretend to travel on board The Polar Express. The PTO will provide popcorn, chocolate milk, and bells for all students! Do you BELIEVE?
