Stillman Valley/Amboy Update

Last week, Mrs. Brubaker and Sister Terri delivered the large banner to Stillman Valley High School. The staff there was overwhelmed by the generosity and caring from the Aquin community. A check for $400 was also delivered to go to the victims and their families.

Additionally, the 2 posters for the Amboy family were mailed to them along with a $100 check toward his memorial.

The $500 given to the families came from the 2 50/50 Drawings held on our 'Red Out' nights.

But the Aquin Senior High students haven't ended their desire to help. Starting last week, the Senior High students started a change war during lunch to raise even more funds for the expenses of the 2 survivors of the accident. A generous donation of $100 boosted the change war fund very quickly. More donations will be accepted. If you are interested, please send your donation to either Aquin office in an envelope marked 'Change War'.

Homecoming Parade Registration

Don't forget to register for the parade which will be held on Wednesday, September 30 starting at 5:30pm at our St. Joe's Campus. After the parade, come to the Aquin High School Campus gymnasium for the Coronation of our 2015 Homecoming Court.

The Spirit Shop will be open following the parade and Coronation--or shop during the Homecoming Football Game on Friday night!

After-School Special update

On Tuesday, 31 kindgarten through 8th grade students gathered in the Aquin Auditorium to watch 'Finding Nemo'. Thanks to Connie Gogel and her staff of student volunteers for making this event a success!

A Very Special Message . . .

Yesterday, Mrs. Sutton was listening to the news coverage of Pope Francis' visit and heard Maria Schriver's remarks (quoted below) that made her stop and sit and reflect for a moment. We hope that you will also reflect upon her words.

. . . "The Pope is reminding us that we are called to be that person, to be that man, to make the difference, our world is so in need of. We can all be that person to bring hope, to share faith, to show love, to all nations, to all God's people. It isn't a government calling, it is a calling of God".
