Sixth Grade Newsletter
December 2, 2018
Dear Parents,
Here's what's happening at school this week:
English
We will continue with non-fiction reading this week and learn different ways to annotate what we read. Students will be thinking about how authors confirm and challenge their readers' thinking. We will also talk about the different formats that can be used in non-fiction writing.
We will continue our study of grammar and root words, and there will be a quiz on Friday.
Enrichment Writing
Math
Last week, students spent most of the week working on the coordinate plane. They have 3 assignments due from last week: Pages 181/182, 187/188, and 193/194. This week, we will finish chapter 3 and have a test on Thursday, December 6th.
Enrichment Math
Last week, students learned about the distance formula and how to find the distance between two points on a coordinate plane. This week, students will get more practice with this concept.
Social Studies
Science
Students that need to retake the cell quiz must have their corrections done first and the quiz retake will be Tuesday. We will be working on Cell Specialization all this week.
