From the Principal

Kia ora koutou,

Book Week

What an amazing effort from all our students today dressing up for Bookweek. This is one of the weeks of the year our students really look forward to taking part in and to see the excitement on their faces as they arrived to school makes organising a week like this well worth it. A big thank you must go to two staff members who make this week possible. Bernardette Crawford for organising the week's activities - you have done an amazing job in providing a range of activities for the students to take part in and Julie Quinn for organising the Scholastic Book Fair - and we have sold around $3,500 worth of books this week.

Prize Giving

This year our end of year Prize Giving will be held on Friday, 16 December at 12.00pm. After the conclusion of the prize giving the students will be able to go home - buses will also be running after prize giving.

This will also be our last day for the school year.

Completed Tau Cards this week

SMAC Maths

Well done to Alice, Gemma, Laura and Chance who came 5th out of 33 teams in the Year 7 SMAC Maths competition this week. Great work.

Book Fair Thanks

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our school book fair again this year.

It was a hugely successful fair with a total of $3,567 in sales. This gives the library $1,070 in which to purchase new books for our students. Once again thank you very much for your continued support.

This week has been jam packed with fun book week activities. On Wednesday we had some Room 5 students come and join us. All week we have been making animals to put in our Book week display, so some of us were gurus and taught the Room 5 students how we make in our Maker space area. Here are some of these creations: Rylee-rae Manahi McColl’s cats, Karsten Tyler and Jack Morris’s shark, Aaron Carbonel and Esme Campbell’s duck, Emilee Andrew and Chloe McDonald’s rabbits, Jimmy Baird and Leonardo Hollis’s sausage dog and Flynn Jamieson’s giraffe.

Western Golf Tournament

This year's Western Golf Tournament is on at Riverton Golf Course on 1st November (Teacher Only Day) $5 per player. Teams must have a manager to accompany them on the day. Fill in Google form here.

Frozen Cookie Dough Fundraiser

Our Frozen Cookie Dough fundraiser has launched. Please see the letter we have sent home/emailed or just head to to sign up for a fundraising page so you can start selling and help us fundraise. We are raising funds towards the cost for our Year 7 students to attend Leadership Courses. Funds raised will go into a kitty towards covering the cost of the entry fees, transport and activities. In the past students/whanau have made a real effort to fundraise to ensure we can book rich leadership course experiences for current and future students. Once you have a page setup, share it with friends and family.
