Upcoming State Testing
Dear Parent or Guardian,
We hope your child has experienced much success this year. In order for us to see the progress your child has made; Berkeley County Schools will be administering the West Virginia General Summative Assessment (WVGSA) to all students in grades 6 – 8. This is the required state summative assessment that is given annually, and the results are part of the state’s accountability system. Also, the results of these grade level assessments will allow administrators, teachers, parents, and students to understand their strengths and weaknesses and allow us to create specific instructional plans for the 2021-2022 school year.
Click, virtual, homebound, and home instructed students will take the WVGSA on the following weeks:
· Week of April 12th – Grade 8
· Week of April 19th – Grade 7
· Week of April 26th – Grade 6
Your child must come to the “BRICK” setting to take the assessment. During their week, they must report to their “home” school to take the assessment. Your child’s home school will provide more information.
You may transport your child, or you may request school transportation. If you request school transportation, you will need to call the BCS Transportation Department at 304-267-3575 and ask to speak with Bob Ruqus or Brandy Davis.
You must complete a separate survey for each child. Please use this link to complete the survey on or before March 12, 2021:
