Spring Semester Internships
Spring 2020 Internships are available for students interested in Veterinary Medicine, Elementary Education, Community Business, and Civic Business. All Internships are at off-campus locations and have dismissal during the school day (off-campus passes). Internships earn elective credits and reflect on transcripts. DRESS CODE
In order to promote a safe and non distracting learning environment, Royal High School will be enforcing our Dress Code. Students are asked to wear clothing that is appropriate for the school or work setting and should be appropriate, modest in nature and non distracting to the learning environment (BP/AR 5132).
● State law requires that footwear be worn at all times.
● Students must wear an appropriate shirt at all times. Including during sports practices. Examples of inappropriate shirts are: sleeveless undershirts, tube-tops, see-through tops, backless tops, strapless tops, or low-cut or stomach baring (midriff) tops, and muscle shirts.
● Clothing that advertises or promotes alcohol, drugs, violence, or other inappropriate activity is not acceptable.
● Undergarments of any kind should not be visible.
● Shorts and skirts are to be at fingertip length.
Violation of the Student Dress Code will result in requiring the student to change to more appropriate attire (physical education clothes or school spiritwear). Additional school consequences will be given to repeat offenders.

FOOD DELIVERIES FOR STUDENTS
Attention Parents and Students:
Please be aware that food deliveries from outside vendors such as Door Dash, Uber Eats and Grub Hub will not be allowed to deliver food to the Royal campus unless it is during our scheduled lunch time. Students may not leave class to receive food deliveries. Food may only be delivered to the front office and not delivered over the fence or through the gates. The office will not accept fountain drinks or any drink that does not have a sealed lid. The student's name must be clearly labeled on the food item. Failure to follow these guidelines will jeopardize any food delivery services at Royal High School.
ST. ROSE OF LIMA PARKING LOT
Attention Parents and Students: Please do not use the St. Rose of Lima Parking Lot to drop off and pick up your students. They have asked us to relay that their parking lot has had very heavy traffic and their parents can't get in to pick up their students from their own school. You can meet your students off of Arcane in the back of the school, on Hudspeth to the East of the school, or in either parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
FEATURED COLLEGE
This Week: Lawrence University

Enrollment: 1,418
Acceptance Rate: 61%
DETAILS: Lawrence University is an unpretentious school that can appeal to both the left and right side of students’ brains. For those with an analytical bent, there is Lawrence’s uncommon physics program. More creative types can take advantage of the school’s renowned Conservatory of Music. “I came to Lawrence because I found no other school where I could seriously study music and academics,” says a senior. “At all the other schools, you had to pick one or the other.” It’s this eclectic, individualized approach to learning that attracts interested and interesting students from around the world. “Lawrence allows students to explore individual and intellectual interests in greater depth than most institutions,” confirms a neuroscience major.
Lawrence’s campus is on a wooded bluff above the Fox River, perfect for long walks, jogging, or simply meditating underneath the trees. It was chosen in 1847 by one of Appleton’s earliest settlers. The pristine 84-acre campus reflects several architectural styles of the past 150 years, including classical revival, 1920s Georgian-inspired, and 1950s and 1960s institutional, unified by their limestone color. The award-winning Wriston Art Center and the Conservatory’s Shattuck Hall of Music (both designed by Lawrence graduates) bring contemporary architectural touches to the campus. The university’s stadium has been revamped and now includes new seating, synthetic turf, and an LED scoreboard.
More than 50 years ago, administrators introduced the Freshman Studies program, a required two-term course that focuses primarily on the great works of art, music, and literature of both Western and non-Western origin and gives all incoming students a shared intellectual experience. General education requirements at Lawrence include Freshman Studies; distribution requirements; and diversity, foreign language, and writing-intensive courses. All seniors—in all degree programs—are required to produce a final project demonstrating proficiency in their major field of study.
LU Student Perspective: “Music is the unifying theme at Lawrence. Almost everybody plays it or studies it or likes to listen to it and talk about it.”
