Welcome Back to all our returning students and families! A special welcome to all our new students and families. We are eagerly awaiting our Meet your Teacher evening Tuesday September 5 for families of Grades 1-4 students.

Please note of the following times:

4:45-5:00 NEW families only, come and meet your teachers.

5:00-6:00 Returning families arrive and have access to their child's classroom.

5:20-5:30 NEW Families information session with Mr. Campbell.

Kindergarten families have received your Meet Your Teacher one hour appointment time for September 6.

Above, you will notice a change to our information board in the front entrance. This year, we would like to share with parents the broad strokes of our learning plan here at Elmdale School.

Our Children: Two years ago, as a staff, we sat down to discuss what were the characteristics that we would like the children at Elmdale School to learn while attending our school We used the following categories to organize our thoughts; Values, Dispositions, Knowledge, Skills. Eventually, the list of characteristics was condensed to what you see on this board. These characteristics are important because our staff strive to plan and teach around these characteristics at our school.

Deeper Learning Priorities: This column displays the four main areas within our school plan. As a staff, when we sit down to plan, these are the focused areas that guide our planning. For example, within Leveraging Digital, we have introduced the use of iPads in all our classrooms.

Blank Column: As a staff, this is the column that we will be working on throughout this school year. As the year progresses, we will add the last section within our learning plan that will tie everything together.

Learning Matters Publication: This column provides copies of Elmdale's contribution to our Hanover School Division Learning Magazine. The articles that have been published thus far and for future publication are detailed examples of the deep learning that the students at Elmdale School are experiencing.

Please note that we will continue to publish our fabulous donors this school year. We will provide a different medium to thank their contributions.

NEW to Elmdale Early Years School

This year, we are happy to welcome Tara Klassen to our staff. Tara will be our School Counsellor. Please click here to read all about Tara and the counseling program that she will be leading here at Elmdale Early Years School.

Parent Parking

Located in our main parking lot on the North side of our school, we have our Family Parking lot. This is where all families park to pick up and drop off children. Parents must walk their child from their vehicle to the school playground. Please be aware that at these pick up and drop off times, we have school busses that enter and exit the school parking lot.

Bus Times, Routes & Address Changes

Please check our website for the bus pick up times and location near your house.
If your address has changed, please call transportation at 204-320-2347 to make sure that your children are riding the correct bus to and from school.
