RE/MAX real estate
Office Newsletter - May (Week of May 1st) Edition
Hey Team -
Hard to believe - it's already May! One more month and summer is here. May can be a very quick or long month, depending on your perspective. Some agents (not ours) fear the summer, due to lower market activity. Some see it as a welcome break to a crazy spring market (again..not our agents). Either way, whatever your perspective is, the reality you wish to create is well within your control. You all know how much I preach the concept of mindset and how your belief system can modify behaviors to ultimately achieve everything you desire. I will always stand behind this philosophy and will challenge anyone to prove it incorrect.
With that said, life is about growth - both personal and professional. As a broker, mentor, trainer, advisor, friend, etc, etc, etc - whatever role you feel I play, I can honestly say, my mindset is 100% centered on change. Not because I feel improvement in all categories is necessary, rather it's a desire to keep getting better. I know if I continue to improve, it will hopefully trickle your way.
For those who attended the April Team Collaboration, beginning this month we kick off our new commitment to a better brokerage model, called RE/MAX momentum. Momentum was designed not to replace successful/current systems and procedures, but to identify the key components of what makes us so special and relevant. I used the term prior, but for those who did not hear - "It's time to unleash the BEAST!"
As you will see below, the acronym "B-E-A-S-T" breaks down the key components of a real estate brokerage. Again, I truly believe we're doing very well in many of the categories, but we can always do better, especially if you (meaning the staff and agents) also agree to make the necessary modifications with me. To do so, this will require an open mind and of course your favorite topic - participation.
My first objective this month, is to focus on getting an "A" - no, not on a report card. My goal is to re-vamp our "A"gent Development program in the following 4 categories:
1. Consulting
2. Training
3. Accountability
4. Master Mind
You will learn more about the plan in future communications and classes, but felt it was important to re-introduce the topics in this week's newsletter.
Again, thank you all for what you do on a continual basis and I hope to see you at the various training and social events over the next few weeks.
Yours truly,
Dave
"COMING SOON!" Email Blast
"Coming Soon!" email blast will provide new listings that have not yet been featured on the MLS. This will give RE/MAX real estate agents the advantage of seeing what will hit the market before the rest of the agents on the MLS does.
The email blast will go out every Monday, so if you have a new listing that isn't listed on the MLS, make sure you send your request to Joel Diaz prior to Monday.

When do I show up for the exchange?
The exchange will be held on May 16 and 17, 2017. A schedule, which goes by your last name, is available HERE. Please allow up to 60 minutes for your appointment.
What to bring to the exchange:

eKEY. Is it right for you?

Appointments are required for eKEY upgrades.
If you'd prefer the eKEY over the XpressKEY, contact the Association office to schedule an appointment. The office can be reached at 610-882-4100 and is located at 10 S. Commerce Way, Bethlehem.
Energy Tip of the Week
I wanted to switch things up this week. Rather than an energy saving tip here is an informative piece about Nikola Tesla.
Does Tesla sound familiar? You’ve probably heard of the car named after Nikola, he was the inventor of alternating currents the solution to Thomas Edison’s invention of direct currents. Click the link below to learn more.

I’ll often catch myself saying or thinking that I don’t care what other people think of me. I hear other people say that from time-to-time too, they couldn’t care less what people think of them. I’m not sure why they say it but I think I say it as a way of “protecting” myself from people who just don’t like me.
The truth, for me and virtually every human that ever lived, is that given the choice we would much prefer to be liked by everyone. So in truth I really do care.
But this is also true: I care more about other things than I care about being liked. You should too! I may have a want to be liked but I have a need to do what I believe is right. Even when it causes other people to not like me.
If you’re trading your integrity to be “liked” then you’ve made yourself one horrible trade. If you’re willing to sacrifice your principles and core values to be accepted as part of the “crowd” then you’ve paid way too high a price for acceptance.
There will always be people who you don’t click with. There will (sadly) be people who are so different from you that you just won’t find enough in common to be considered friends. But you will click with the people who you need in your life. They will accept you as you are. If they are meant to have influence on your life then their influence will change you for the better, not the worse.
Remember those “friends” who your parents said were a bad influence on you? Your parents were probably right, you just couldn’t see it at the time. If you changed your behavior solely for the purpose of being liked more by those friends then your parents were almost certainly right.
Don’t change who you are simply to be liked.
Not everyone is going to like you, that’s just how it is. Nobody is liked by everybody. It is far far more important that you like yourself, that you respect yourself, than it is that any other person likes or respects you.
It’s just not a healthy choice to value the opinions of people who don’t truly value you. Just be you. You are more than good enough for the good people to whom you actually matter. Those are the people who truly care about you. Those are the people who will like you for who you are, not for what they want you to be.
