Chromebook Update
An Update from Principal Knoeppel, July 20, 2020
Chromebook Collection at Lincoln School
Dear Parents:
In preparation for the upcoming school year, next week we will be collecting all of the Chromebooks and chargers we lent out to families with children in grades K-5 last spring when schools were closed and we moved to Distance Learning.
For the 2020-21 school year, ALL students in grades K-8 will have a Chromebook assigned to them if they are registered for In-Person learning OR Virtual learning. We need to collect the Chromebooks we loaned in the spring to inventory, clean, and update each device so we can be ready to re-assign them to our K-3 students when school reopens in August. All students in grades 4 - 6 will receive a new Chromebook with a case that they will take home with them each day. Every child in K-3 will be assigned his or her own Chromebook that will be stored at school (unless the child is enrolled in virtual learning). If the State returns to Phase 1, 2, or 3 of The Restore Illinois Plan and we have to close schools, students in grades K-3 will take home their assigned Chromebook.
We will be having a DRIVE UP/DROP OFF Chromebook and cord collection on WEDNESDAY, July 29 from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Please enter through Hicks Rd. to the Farmgate parking lot. On July 29 at that time there will be someone outside at Door 10 to collect Chromebooks. If you can not Drive Up and Drop Off during this time frame, you can drop off the Chromebook and cord Mon - Thurs July 27-30th at Lincoln. There will be a Chromebook collection bin inside the Door 10 Farmgate door. Please enter the school through DOOR # 10 and drop off your Chromebook and cord during the hours of 8:00-4:30 p.m. If your child is enrolled in summer school, please return the Chromebook on July 29th.
If you can not come to the school to drop off Chromebooks and chargers, we will have collection bins on our busses that deliver meals July 27-30th. (Summer 2020 Food Distribution Schedule) All families MUST return the loaner Chromebooks in order for each child to receive a Chromebook for the start of the school year. If a family does not return the Chromebook(s) loaned to them in the spring, their child(ren) will not be assigned a device when school resumes this August.
Best,
