Parent Feedback on "OHS Parent News"
Last Friday, we asked our OHS parents for feedback on our OHS Parent News. We were very happy with the number of responses to this survey. Every parent that participated helped us to move this parent newsletter forward. Below are a few feedback pieces that you may find in this edition of OHS Parent News:
- The Club List needs to be updated from last year
- We need more advanced notice on school events
- Grade levels need their own sections
- Pertinent senior information needs to be identified
- More photos of students
- Volunteer opportunities need to be listed
- Times for home events need to be listed
- Focus on all activities not just athletics
Wednesday AM WORKshop for Students
In 2018-19, OHS is offering a few NEW academic supports for students. Our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support team meets every other week to look at students more closely. The goal of the MTSS team is to identify students that need additional supports in school.
On Thursday, we began our after school DEN program for qualified students. The selected students receive support from teachers in four core areas.
In addition, students needing additional support in school may attend the "Wednesday AM Help Sessions". Is your student having difficulties in his/her classes?
- Complete the form below to sign up for "Wednesday AM Help Sessions".
- Sessions will begin on October 10th.

(a) minimum grade of 73% in the class, OR
(b) minimum grade of 65% AND no missing assignments or assessments in the class
- Additional notes and clarification:
- Three tardies = 1 absence.
- The deadline for fulfilling criterion (a) and/or (b) is 5 school days prior to the end of the semester
- Late work policies for each class, for the purpose of meeting the exemption requirement, will be established by departments and clearly communicated to students at the beginning of each semester
