NEW! California School Parent Survey
MVMS and PUSD are conducting a survey of parents as part of our school and district continuous improvement process. We value parent input greatly and appreciate your participation in the short survey found at the link below. The survey answers should be specific to our school site. If you have students at more than one school, you will need to do a separate survey for that school using that school’s link. We are asking you to complete this survey no later than Friday, November 18.
The Parent survey is aligned with the state mandated California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) given to students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11, and the individual site Staff Survey also to be conducted this month.
We will be using these student, staff, and parent surveys to gain a better understanding of our parents’ view of our schools and how we can best support our students. All of the survey results will be used as part of our state required Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
Thank you for your assistance.
Please click on the link below and you will be taken directly to our school’s survey.
NEW! 2021-22 CAASPP Results
Preliminary 2022 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) results are available for our individual students and our school.
Test scores are recorded as Standards Exceeded, Standards Met, Standards Nearly Met, and Standards Not Met.
- In English language arts, an overall average of 81.98% of our Mesa Verde students met or exceeded standards on the 2022 CAASPP.
- In mathematics, an overall average of 68.45% of our Mesa Verde students met or exceeded standards on the 2022 CAASPP.
CAASPP was administered to students in grades 3-8 and grade 11 during the Spring of 2022. If your child took the CAASPP, you can access their individual results through ParentVUE. Directions for using ParentVUE can be found here. Please keep in mind that these scores are only one measure of an individual student’s learning. Data from these assessments is used as part of a broader picture of student achievement. Teachers use these results in conjunction with site and classroom assessments and observations to help tailor instruction throughout the school year.
This was the first statewide test given to California students since 2019. Following the pandemic, the 2022 test was significantly revised by the California Department of Education (CDE), providing a new baseline for school districts and sites to measure progress moving forward. Due to the significant changes in the test, districts and sites are unable to make direct comparisons with previous years’ results. However, consistent strong results are indicative of system-wide collaboration by parents, teachers, and school staff to facilitate student success. We are proud of our students and know their accomplishments are reflected in a variety of ways. CAASPP results are one measure of progress and should be reviewed alongside other learning information as well.
