Pennies for Patients!

Pennies for Patients begins Feb. 7th and ends Feb. 28th. Students are encouraged to bring in any loose change/money to raise money for children with cancer. Prizes will be given to those CAT times that earn the most!

Per CDC, KDHE, & USD 475 guidelines:

Students must stay at home, away from school, for a minimum of 5 days if the flu is diagnosed. Must be fever-free for a minimum of 24 hours without the help of fever-reducing medication. Some students in our school & district have compromised immune systems. Please use consideration & do not send your ill students to school.

Thank you for your support in keeping our students & staff safe & healthy.

8th Graders: High School Enrollment

Thursday, Feb. 20th all 8th graders will receive information about freshman enrollment at Junction City High School. Ms. Reynolds (freshman counselor) will be at JCMS to give information to all 8th graders and send home the Course Description Catalog. Students will enroll online at school on Tuesday, Feb. 25th.

KELPA testing -- Earbuds Needed!

All ELL students will take the KELPA (Kansas English Language Proficiency Assessment) some time next week. Students will need to use their earbuds for these tests. They will use them, as well, for the State Math, Language Arts and Science tests in April. Please make sure your child has a set of earbuds for these tests.

Student Led Conferences

Student Led Conferences will be held March 16, 17, 18. Mr. Martinez, our ELL aide, will be calling those parents who would like Spanish translation to schedule those conferences. He will begin calling next week (Feb. 3 - 7). If your phone number on Skyward has changed, please call our Spanish Translation Line 785-717-4428 and leave a message with your new number. Thank you for your help!!

Second Chance Breakfast

Students that miss breakfast may visit the Grab N' Go cart in the commons area between 2nd and 3rd hour and grab a milk, grain, and fruit as the go to class. Students may only eat ONE breakfast each day. It will cost the same amount as the regular breakfast. Students will either be able to have a regular breakfast or the Grab N' Go. They may not have both.
