Who is Eligible in 2022-2023 School Year?
The teachers in the following content areas are eligible to receive a TIA designation. For a detailed overview of KISD's Teacher Incentive Allotment program, check out the field guide.
- K-12 RLA
- K-8 Math & Algebra I, II and Geometry
- Pre-K4
- 5th Science, 8th Science and Biology
- Algebra II and Geometry
- 8th Social Studies and US History
What are the requirements if I teach in an eligible content area?
These requirements do not take the place of your campus T-TESS appraisal.
- Have 1 informal 15-minute observation
- Have at least 1 formal 45-minute observation by a committee * may be a swivl video if you are not pursuing a designation
- Administer BOY, MOY & EOY growth assessments
Requirements for teachers who are pursuing a TIA designation:
1. Observations
- 1 informal 15-minute observation by a committee of 4 appraisers
- 1 formal 45-minute observation by a committee of 4 appraisers
- Administer BOY, MOY and EOY growth assessments
- Meet student growth target (55%, 70% or 80%)
3. Leadership Portfolio
- completion of leadership component
How is student growth measured in my subject area?
- The BOY, MOY, and EOY Circle assessments will be utilized to measure student growth on the following subtests: Math (including all subtests), Language and Communication Domain (including all subtests), and Domain Emergent Literacy: Reading (including all subtests except Book and Print Awareness and Motivation to Read).
K-2 Math & RLA
- Students will take a BOY, MOY and EOY assessment through amplify (RLA) and NWEA (math). Growth scores are determined through the assessment vendor. Teachers will receive a combined growth score.
3-8th Math
- Students will take a BOY, MOY, and EOY assessments through NWEA. Students will receive a RIT growth score (calculated by NWEA) after the EOY assessment.
3-8th RLA
- Students will take a BOY, MOY and EOY assessment through amplify (RLA). Composite growth is generated by the vendor.
- Students will take a BOY, MOY, and EOY assessments through NWEA. Students will receive a RIT growth score (calculated by NWEA) after the EOY assessment.
8th Social Studies, US History & Biology
- The district has set growth standards by using the "half the gap" model. To determine growth, the difference between the BOY (released STAAR) assessment and EOY STAAR/EOC predicted score will be calculated for each student by the gap between a perfect score and each student's actual score using a "half the gap" method to determine expected growth targets.
- BOY assessment: STAAR/EOC released test
- EOY assessment: STAAR/EOC state assessment
English I-IV
- Students will take a BOY, MOY and EOY assessment through HMH. HMH generates a student growth score.
